With more than 30 years of real estate experience, Marilyn Rickard has consistently been a top-producing, award-winning agent in Santa Barbara. Before beginning her extraordinary career, she attended the University of California Santa Barbara and the University of California Polytechnic at San Luis Obispo where she earned a bachelor's degree in social science and education. Settling in Santa Barbara to raise her family, she soon became involved in the Real Estate industry.
Throughout her career, Marilyn has run the entrepreneurial gamut including 12-years of ownership of her very own Real Estate company and a local inn to assisting in the operation of her family's cattle ranch. This business experience has allowed her to be successfully active in all segments of the real estate field, transacting residential, ranch and commercial property sales in addition to real estate development, leasing and property management.
Not only is Marilyn well known for her expertise and incredible care to her clients, she is also well known for her profound involvement in the community. She currently serves on the board of St.Francis Medical Center Foundation and has since 1975, Casa Esperanza Homeless Center, Area Agency on Aging, St. Vincent Home, and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Santa Barbara. While raising her family, Marilyn also served on the boards concerning many of her four children's activities including the Youth football, Little League, Page Sports Center, and G.A.T.E. (Gifted and Talented Education). She founded the Channel Islands Girls Volleyball USVBA Club and served as the PTA president for San Roque Catholic School and PTA member for Santa Barbara High School. Marilyn has helped develop popular programs like Zoo-B-Cue and Zoo camp on the Santa Barbara Zoological Auxiliary and has served on various committees as a member of the Santa Barbara Board of Realtors.
The history and evolution of Santa Barbara from a small pueblo to a thriving city with its unique cultural and economic characteristics is of special importance to Marilyn as her children are sixth generation Santa Barbarians.
